Built in 1907, this Craftsman style Bungalow is a Sears & Roebuck home known as the “Sunlight” model and was available with an ‘expandable attic’, for $1,372.00.  Sears sold more than 70,000 of these homes through their catalog between 1907 and 1940. “Sears Modern Homes” offered more than 370 designs and a wide range of architectural styles.  Historians believe about 70% of these homes are still in existence. Try to find an original advertisement for the home as you meander through.

The owner has lived here for over 30 years and while the bathroom was renovated in 2024 along with new flooring in 2015, 2020, and 2023, the only real addition came in 2015 with a back porch - otherwise the original footprint remains the same.

Of particular note is the kitchen.  The owner’s grandfather founded Grabill Cabinets in Indiana with her mom, dad, and brother all working there so when it came time to update her kitchen the “family business” stepped in to design and build exactly what she needed.

As a stage manager for community theater, the home owner often hosts cast parties with upwards of 40-60 people in attendance.

And vintage!  Almost every room has vintage elements with the second bedroom devoted to vintage hats and purses.
